Turkey says 1,000 Syrians fled in last 24 hours

Some 1,000 Syrian refugees have crossed the border into Turkey in the past 24 hours, a Turkish official said on Thursday, a sharp increase in the flow, bringing the total number of registered Syrian refugees in Turkey to some 14,000.

"Around 1,000 people crossed the border from Syria to Turkey in the last 24 hours," the official said. "We expect this to continue as long as the operation goes on in Idlib." (Reuters)
