Syria promises to cooperate with UN-Arab League envoy

The Syrian Foreign Ministry said on Friday it would cooperate with UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan, but reiterated its determination to fight "terrorists," to whom the regime attributes the violence in the country.
"The Syrian government is committed to protecting its citizens by disarming the terrorists and continues to seek a political solution to the crisis through cooperation with Kofi Annan," the ministry wrote in a letter to the UN, the official SANA news agency reported. (AFP)
