Turkey's state-run news agency says a police officer and a civilian have been injured in clashes between hundreds of Kurdish demonstrators, some armed with homemade bombs and firebombs, and police in the country's southeast.
The Anadolu Agency says the clashes erupted in the mainly Kurdish city of Diyarbakir when police tried to prevent the group from celebrating a traditional spring festival, Nowruz, that marks the vernal equinox. (AP)
