Hitler's 'LA crib' to become picnic area
US fascists who believed Nazi fuehrer would move to Tinsel Town after winning WWII, built state of the art complex to house German despot. Sixty seven years later, site slated for demolition, will become backpackers picnic area instead
It sounds like another bizarre script of a Hollywood horror movie: The Nazis won the Second World War and Adolf Hitler relocated to Los Angeles, where he rubbed shoulders with celebrities while overseeing his empire of evil.
As absurd as this scenario might sound, during the 1930s many supporters of the up and coming Nazi despot truly believed that the script would turn into a reality – so much so that they spent millions of dollars building a housing complex in a luxurious part of Tinsel Town that would be the future residence of the fuehrer.
The Daily Mail on Monday reported that the complex, which is not too far away from Jewish director Steven Spielberg's residence, was equipped with a huge generator, a storage room, 22 bedrooms and a fortified bomb shelter in case that the house is attacked.

In addition, the West Coast fascists planned to build five libraries, a swimming pool, several dining rooms and a gym – all to be paid for by German funds.
However, history had other plans, and the Los Angeles Police raided the complex and arrested some 50 American fascists who were living at the site.
Historian Randy Young told the Sunday Express that the Bunker in the City of Angels was meant to be the headquarters of American fascists, from which Hitler was to eventually rule the United States.
Sixty seven years after the Second World War drew to an end, the abandoned complex' external walls are covered with graffiti and the site is slated for demolition, after which it will become a picnic area for unsuspecting backpackers.
