French Interior Minister: Not sure if terrorist is still alive

French Interior Minister Claude Gueant said he was not certain that Mohamed Merah was still alive. French newspaper "Le Monde" quoted Gueant saying "it was strange that no movement had been reported in the apartment all night." Gueant was further quoted saying he believes Merah wants to die "with weapons in hand."

The standoff at a Toulouse apartment building entered its second day Thursday with hundreds of French police surrounding the house of the gunman believed to be responsible for Monday's deadly shooting at Ozar Hatorah Jewish School in Toulouse. (AFP)
