Clinton to allow US military aid to Egypt to go ahead

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will use a waiver provided in US law to allow military aid to Egypt to go ahead, Senator Patrick Leahy's office said on Thursday.

Leahy said in a statement that he was disappointed in the decision, which will allow US military aid to Egypt to continue this year regardless of whether the Cairo government is supporting a transition to civilian rule. (Reuters)
