An abduction claim this week by al-Qaeda's North Africa branch of a German hostage in north Nigeria shows the West African nation is now dealing with threats from two terrorist groups.
The group known as al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb claimed the January kidnapping of a German engineer in the northern city of Kano. (AP)
