Police: Hundreds of rifles, guns, grenades seized in north in 2012

The Israel Police Northern District said that it has confiscated 110 guns, more than 70 submachine guns and rifles and more than 50 grenades over the past three months, as part of a bolstered effort to stop illegal arms use.
The seized munitions also included 15 bombs, three missiles, two kilograms of TNT, hundreds of magazines and tens of thousands of bullets. The police have found that guns are sold illegaly for NIS 8,000-1,000, while an M16 rifle that was stolen from the IDF can cost up to NIS 50,000. (Hassan Shaalan)
