Defense sources confirm: Toulouse terrorist visited Israel

Mohamed Merah, the French national who shot seven people to death in Toulouse this month, including three children, a rabbi and three paratroopers, visited Israel in September 2010 before travelling to Afghanistan, according to an investigation conducted by the defense establishment.

Sources in the establishment said that Merah was questioned before being allowed to enter Israel from Jordan through the Allenby Crossing. The sources noted that Merah entered as a tourist and was not in possession of a knife, as was previously reported. He returned to Jordan after three days. (Yoav Zitun)
