Norway shuts down embassy in Damascus

The Norwegian Foreign Ministry says it has decided to close down its embassy in Damascus due to security concearns.
Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere on Monday said Norway has closed the embassy until further notice, but that a Norwegian diplomat will continue to work in Syria through the Danish embassy. He says the diplomat will "uphold contacts with political actors and report about the development" in Syria. (AP)
