The IDF was able to foil an attack against troops patrolling the Gaza border, Ynet learned Monday.
Military forces detected a powerful explosive device that was concealed on the Gaza border fence. IDF sappers defused it safely.
According to the IDF, the device – packing 12 kilograms of explosives – was meant to be used as a roadside bomb against military forces patrolling the sector.
Military sources said that the terrorists took a brazen chance by coming as close as they did to the border fence to place the bomb, noting that they usually place roadside bombs within 100-200 yards of the fence.
No terror group has claimed the attempt at this time.
