Police: Less crime in the south, more drugs

Police on Tuesday presented the 2011 crime data for the southern district in which it was revealed that that in the south police managed the highest rate of apprehension on criminals in the country (18%).
In general the data indicates success on many levels relative to other districts throughout the country. Crime was down by 6% and in total since 2003 it was down by 36%.Yet one branch of crime is flourishing in the south – the drug industry with a 23.5% rise in drug related cases. (Ilana Curiel)
