Man suspected of shaking his 5-month-old niece

A 23-year-old Ashkelon resident has been arrested on suspicion he shook his 5-month-old niece. She has been admitted to the Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba in serious condition.
The suspect was arrested after a police investigation into a report on the baby's hospitalization a week ago. A remand hearing on the suspect's case will be held later today at the Ashkelon Magistrate's Court. (Neri Brener)
