US urges restraint after Land Day riots

The United States on Friday urged restraint by both Israel and the Palestinians after dozens were injured in clashes during Land Day protests.

"We certainly don't want to see any violence by either side," State Department spokesperson Mark Toner told reporters. "We certainly, as you well know, support the rights of people everywhere to protest peacefully. And so we would just call for restraint," he said. (AFP)
