French police holding 17 suspected Muslim radicals
A Muslim convert convicted in 2007 on terror-related charges is among 17 people still being held a day after a police sweep of suspected radical Islamists around France. An official close to the investigation says that Willy Brigitte, who'd been arrested in Australia and extradited to France in 2003, was detained in Asnieres, north of Paris.
The official said Saturday that two of 19 people detained early Friday were freed. The official asked for anonymity as he wasn't authorized to speak publicly. (AP)
