Prosecutor rejects Palestinian recognition of ICC

The International Criminal Court prosecutor has rejected a bid by the Palestinian authority to recognize the court's jurisdiction, a move that blocks moves to have the permanent war crimes tribunal investigate the Gaza conflict that began in December 2008.
The Palestinian Authority unilaterally recognized the court's jurisdiction in early 2009 and prosecutors have been mulling ever since whether to accept the recognition. (AP)
