US: Syria failing to implement Annan plan
Washington's UN envoy Susan Rice accused the Syrian regime of exacerbating violence against citizens, saying that the President Bashar Assad's government has failed to implement UN-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan's peace plan, despite its commitment to do so.
She asserted that Assad is unfit to lead, adding that the US is preparing to send humanitarian aid to the country. (Yitzhak Benhorin, Washington)
