Russia's FM warns against arming Syrian opposition
Russia's foreign minister has warned against arming the Syrian opposition, saying it would only escalate hostilities.
Sergey Lavrov said Wednesday on a trip to Azerbaijan that the Syrian opposition wouldn't be able to defeat government forces even if supplied with weapons from abroad. He warns that a foreign military intervention would lead to even more disastrous consequences.(AP)
