Hamas: Mashaal to announce candidacy for third term as politburo chief

Palestinian sources reported that Hamas' leaders have decided to nominate incumbent Politburo Chief Khaled Mashaal for a third term in the role.

According to Arab media reports, Meshaal caved under the pressure from Hamas officials, and agreed to submit his candidacy. An election for the role is expected to be held this month. (Elior Levy)
