Police nab gang suspected of robbing elderly women

Holon residents allegedly pulled women into stairwells, snatch their bracelets, necklaces
Gilad Morag|
Three Holon residents were arrested on Sunday on suspicion of robbing elderly women, mainly in central Ramat Gan, over a period of a few months.
According to suspicions, the men would sometimes use force to snatch bracelets and necklaces from the women, aged 70 to 80. The suspects allegedly shoved the women into stairwells or courtyards and then rob them.
In some cases, the suspects – aged 40, 51 and 52 - would wait outside national health clinics in search of potential victims.
Investigators believe the alleged criminals used the loot to buy drugs.
The men have denied the allegations, but jewelry which is suspected of being stolen was found in their possession.
