Dutchman who was shot by police released

The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court has decided to release from police custody a Dutch national who is suspected of assaulting cops at a Bat Yam apartment building. Two police officers shot at the man due to fears he might grab their weapons. He was wounded and hospitalized.

The court ruled that the police have no grounds to keep him under arrest because they failed to submit the two officers' action reports. Therefore, no evidence was presented for any transgression except a mild assault on the cops. (Gilad Morag)
