Palestinians: no demand for Jewish state recognition – surprising
None
A Palestinian official responded Wednesday to the Israeli document regarding future arrangement with the Palestinians, saying that the decision not to include a pre-condition of recognition in the Jewish state is surprising.
Nonetheless, the official emphasized that the most important issue for the Palestinians at this stage is freezing the settlements. According to him, the Palestinians don't believe Netanyahu can pursue far reaching progress in the negotiations within the current coalition, and he may need to wait until after next year's elections before any serious negotiations can begin.
