BGU to go up against Google, Motorola in startup contest

Students at Ben Gurion University's Telecommunications Engineering Department to present mobile innovation in June contest

The Department of Telecommunications and Engineering will face off against Google and Motorola in June, in a mobile ventures contest sponsored by the latter.

 

Held for the third year, the finalists will face a panel of judges from various technology giants, such as Noam Bardin of Waze, Zohar Levkovitz of Amobee and Rami Kasterstein of at DoAT, to name a few.

 

 

The contest will accept innovative technologies such as services or applications for tablets and smartphones in the fields of social networking, multimedia, e-commerce, information security, education, interface integration, cloud computing etc.

 

Chief judge Mony Hassid, co-managing director of Motorola Mobility Ventures, said that the contest aims to allow Israeli students to present innovative solutions.

 

The final is set for June 18.
