Peres: IDF violence against foreign activist shocking, but isolated

President Shimon Peres addressed Sunday's incident in which an IDF officer struck a Danish activist with his M-16 rifle, saying "I was shocked just like everybody else to see this documentation of violence, but it's important to remember that this is an isolated event that does not project the general practice of the military.
"I think the IDF responded in a unequivocal manner and is currently investigating the incident," the president said. (Maor Buchnik)
