Brotherhood's Mursi to run if Shater out of Egypt vote

None

The Muslim Brotherhood said on Tuesday that Mohamed Mursi, the head of the group's political party, will run as its candidate in Egypt's presidential elections if Khairat al-Shater is disqualified.

Two sources on the judicial committee overseeing the vote told Reuters that an appeal against Shater's disqualification had been rejected on Tuesday. "Mohamed Mursi is our candidate if Shater is excluded," Mahmoud Ghozlan, the Brotherhood spokesman, said. (Reuters)
