Barak: Lt. Col. Eisner's actions unnecessary

During an official visit to Colombia, Defense Minister Ehud Barak responded for the first time to Saturday's incident in which Lt. Col. Shalom Eisner struck a Danish pro-Palestinian activist, saying, "There is no contradiction between completing missions and upholding the IDF's values and spirit."
"I do not accept the false statements made over the past few days according to which the officer's severe behavior stemmed from operational concerns," Barak added. (Yoav Zitun)
