Victims of Nazi persecution to receive double stipends from State

The Knesset's Finance Committee has approved for second and third readings an amendment to a law that bars individuals from receiving double stipends from the State. The legislation grants disabled victims of Nazi persecution a monthly stipend from the National Insurance Institute in addition to the allowance they receive from the Finance Ministry.

The amendment adds up to NIS 900 to each recipient's stipend. The legislation also applies to widows of disabled survivors. (Zvi Lavi)
