Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at a ceremony commemorating Israel's fallen soldiers in Jerusalem, and mentioned the loss of his brother, Yonatan, who was killed in action in 1976.
"The citizens of Israel will unite in mourning and will bow their head in gratitude to those who have fallen and sacrificed their lives for the protection of our people. Thanks to them we have independence and the right to live securely in our nation." he said. "(…) For us, the bereaved families, time came to a standstill the moment we received the terrible news."
