Israel seeks moment of silence for Munich victims at Olympics

Israel has asked the International Olympic Committee to honor the Israeli team members who were killed by Palestinian terrorists at the 1972 Munich Games, an official said Tuesday.

Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon said he has sent a letter to the IOC with the request. He wants the 2012 London Olympics to be opened with a minute's silence honoring the athletes and team officials. (AP)
