UN confirms 16 deaths in Sudan bombings

The United Nations has confirmed that at least 16 civilians in South Sudan have been killed and 34 injured in bombings by Sudanese aircraft.
US Ambassador Susan Rice, the current Security Council president, told reporters the UN peacekeeping mission in South Sudan reported that the casualties were from bombings in Unity State near the border with Sudan, and also caused significant damage to infrastructure. (AP)
