Hamas leaders to convene in Cairo to discuss Palestinian reconciliation

Hamas leadership is to gather in Cairo in the coming days for a series of meetings following the completion of the Shoura Council elections in Gaza. Hamas Politburo Chief Khaled Mashaal and other senior members of the organization have already arrived in the Egyptian capital.

A Hamas source told the newspaper Asharq al-Awsat that the meetings are to deal with the Palestinian "reconciliation, the Gaza election, upcoming election in the West Bank and the difficulties that it faces due to the security conditions." (Elior Levy)
