Navy arrests 5 fisherman near Gaza port
Palestinians in the Gaza Strip reported that the Navy arrested five fishermen across from the Gaza port and brought them in to the Ashdod port. The Palestinians claim that four of those detained are Palestinian civilians and one of them is Egyptian.
The IDF said in response that the fishermen had gone beyond the area open to fishing in the northern Strip and had infiltrated Israeli territory. Navy forces called out for them to stop and even fired a warning shot. When the fishermen ignored the warnings, security forces arrested them and brought them in for questioning at the Ashdod port.
