Bus driver arrested for alleged assault of 9-year-old girl

A 61-year-old bus driver from central Israel was arrested on suspicion of committing an indecent act on a 9-year-old girl. The man allegedly picked her up, but instead of giving her a ride to the destination she requested, he drove her elsewhere. During the ride, he made her sit on his lap and assaulted her despite her objection.

The suspect said during questioning that she "begged" him for a ride. He admitted she sat on his lap but denied committing the assault. (Raanan Ben-Zur)
