Elad residents: This isn't a haven for Hagai Amir

Hagai Amir, who was released from prison Friday morning after serving 16.5 years for complicity in the assassination of former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin, went to his sister's home in the Ultra-Orthodox city of Elad but the residents were not enthusiastic about the visitor.
One Elad resident told Ynet: "If we'd known he was coming, maybe we should have closed the gate. This is not a haven." Amir had originally planned to spend his first weekend free with family in the Shavei Shomon settlement, but changed his plans after the settlers voiced their opposition to his arrival.
