'The only way Amir should have left prison was in a coffin'

Shimon Shabas, who served as director general of the Prime Minister's Office under the late Yitzhak Rabin, said Friday after Hagai Amir was released from prison that everyone involved in the assassination should spend the rest of his life behind bars.

"The only way (Amir) should have left prison was in a coffin," Shabas told Ynet. "He is one of the people who caused the prime minister's murder. He didn't shoot, but he put the bullets in the gun, and he belongs in prison." (Attila Somfalvi)
