NATO: France remains committed to Afghanistan
NATO says it expects that France will remain committed to Afghanistan, despite a campaign pledge by president-elect Francois Hollande to accelerate the withdrawal of French troops.
NATO spokeswoman Oana Lungescu said Monday that France already has a long-term partnership agreement with the government in Kabul. This includes continued training of Afghan troops after 2014, when the bulk of coalition forces will withdraw. (AP)
