Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed Kadima into the coalition Tuesday afternoon, saying that Kadima Party Chairman Shaul Mofaz had "taken an important step."
Speaking at a press conference, Netanyahu said that when he thought that the stability of the government was in question, he had been prepared to call early elections, but when it became clear that there was a chance of establishing a wide coalition, he realized that "it was possible to restore stability without elections."
