2 'green' reps to be appointed to oil board
The Knesset's Economics Committee approved the extension of the oil board from nine to 15 members. Two of the board members will be appointed on the recommendation of the environmental protection minister.
"This is the lesser of two evils," said Attorney Tal Zachs from the Environmental Protection Ministry. Zachs led the campaign to get representation to the ministry and green activists in the board. The green organizations are fighting to prevent pollution from oil drilling. (Billi Frenkel)
