State sources postulated that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's meeting with EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton was held in order to send a firm message on the Iranian issue.
Ministers Ehud Barak, Avigdor Lieberman and Shaul Mofaz attended the meeting as well, prompting State sources to posit that the expanded forum was meant to indicate a unity within the Coalition over the necessity for a military operation in Iran if talks between the West and the Islamic Republic fail.
