UN chief condemns Syria bombing

Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has condemned a bomb attack in Syria that struck close to UN observers, saying it "may have a direct impact on the future of the Mission."

No United Nations personnel were harmed in the attack that injured 10 Syrian soldiers, and there was no evidence the explosion was intended to target the observers, Ban's spokesman Martin Nesirky said in a statement Wednesday. (AP)
