Gov't approves plan to improve absorption of Ethiopian immigrants

The cabinet on Sunday unanimously approved a plan to improve the absorption of Ethiopian immigrants into Israeli society.

The plan includes increased mortgage allowances for Ethiopian immigrant couples, from NIS 259,000 in 2013 to NIS 500,000 by 2016, and the establishment of a special unit to provide employment services for the sector. In addition, 30 government jobs will be added to the existing quota of positions for Ethiopian immigrants. (Attila Somfalvi)
