Justice Solberg: Violence wave calls for severe penal response

Supreme Court Justice Noam Solberg addressed the recent wave of violence, noting that street fights that end in injuries and death have become commonplace in Israel.

Solberg made the comments in a ruling rejecting an appeal filed by four men who received prison sentences for taking part in a brawl. "The situation requires severe penal response on the part of the courts," he wrote. (Aviad Glickman)
