Iran: Thousands protest against Bahrain-Saudi union

Thousands demonstrated in Iran on Friday against the proposed union between Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, a move Tehran clerics identify as an "American-Zionist conspiracy." 

The protesters gathered in front of Tehran University after Friday's prayers and shouted "Death to the Saudi traitor," "Death to America" and "Death to Israel," according to pictures shown by state television. Similar events were held in several other cities, local media reported. (AFP)
