Fatah, Hamas to promote negotiations over interim gov't

Fatah and Hamas representatives met in Cairo and agreed to promote negotiations over the establishment of an interim government under the leadership of Mahmoud Abbas. According to reports, Hamas will allow the election committee to operate within Gaza.
It was also reported that Abbas spoke with Hamas politburo chief Khaled Mashal on the understandings between the factions. (Elior Levy)
