PM: Alternative to Tal Law must be passed within weeks

The Tal Law Committee convened for the first time on Monday, a meeting which was attended by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Minister Shaul Mofaz. Netanyahu said that "the distribution of the burden, gradual implementation and the inclusion of Jews and Arabs" are the principles that should guide the committee, which seeks an alternative to a legislation that grants IDF service exemptions to haredim.
"Time is short and there is much to be done," he said. "The law must be passed within a few weeks." (Moran Azulay)
