Budget for former president Katsav's office increased to NIS 1.7M

The government has increased the 2012 budget for former president Moshe Katsav's office by NIS 4,000 – putting the total funding at NIS 1.697 (about $443,000.)

Katsav is currently serving a seven-year prison service for rape and other sexual offenses and it was unclear why his office required continued funding. Neither the Finance Ministry nor the President's Office provided a response. (Tomer Avital, Calcalist)
