Court rejects indictment citing police discrimination

None

The Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court has rejected an indictment citing police discrimination against an Arab suspect. The defendant was found in possession of a knife at the time of his arrest at a manpower company in Tel Aviv.

Officers who arrived at the scene released the defendant's Jewish friend and questioned the defendant. "There is no doubt that unfortunately, the officers were briefed based only on the defendant's ethnic affiliation. Their actions were discriminatory," the judge said. (Naama Cohen Friedman)
