Iran announces SWIFT replacement

Governor of the Central Bank of Iran Mahmoud Bahmani said on Sunday Iran has designed and implemented a new system for conducting international transactions, according to reports in Iranian media. Bahmani said the alternative to SWIFT is already operational.
On March 15, SWIFT decided to cut its ties with Iranian banks, complying the financial sanctions imposed by the European Union. (Dudi Cohen)
