German president lands in Israel for official visit

German President Joachim Gauck landed in Israel for a two day official visit. On Tuesday morning he will meet with his Israeli counterpart President Shimon Peres and other senior officials including Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Opposition Leader Sheli Yachimovich. Later on he is set to visit the Yad Vashem museum.
On Wednesday the German president will meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu after which he will visit the Palestinian Authority and meet with Mahmoud Abbas. (Attila Somfalvi)
