Annan to Assad: bold steps needed to halt Syria violence

Syrian President Bashar Assad told UN Envoy to Syria Kofi Annan that no political solution is possible in the country as long as "terrorists" are destabilizing the country.

"Syria is ready to make a success of any honest effort to find a solution for the events it is witnessing," Syrian news agency SANA quoted Assad as telling Annan on Saturday. (ynet)
